When Chimneys are Swept

 There is a potential risk of chimney covers, such as cowls and caps being dislodged
if they are not securely fixed/installed
 Our brushes need to exit the pot during the sweep to guarantee the flue is clear

If you have any concerns about this then please discuss with either Jeanette in the office when booking your sweep or Guy or Carl before they go ahead with your sweep
We cannot take responsibility for badly installed cowls/Caps/Bird guards/
Bird wires
In Spring the birds nest
In Summer the birds leave
In Winter we light the fires
Make sure you haven’t been left with any nest material in your chimney flue
Blocked chimneys can be dangerous when lit so don’t leave it too late

  • A valid Certificate of Sweeping will be issued on the completion of all work. Most Insurance companies will no longer pay out on claims made for chimney fires where chimneys have not been swept by a professional offering a valid certificate
  • By using either Traditional or Power Sweeping Methods flues will be effectively unblocked to remove anything that prevents smoke leaving your house
  • All domestic and commercial properties are covered ensuring chimneys are safe for everyone to use
  • Use of clean protective sheets will ensure homes and properties are left as clean as they started

  • During a sweep our brushes are required to exit the chimney flues to ensure your fires are safe to use 
  • Pots and cowls are built to withstand sweeps and are the responsibility of the householder to ensure they are fit for sweeping
  • We cannot therefore be responsible for any exterior fittings that come off during the process of sweeping if they are either poorly fitted or perished
